1000th day of war in a frontline city

November 19, 2024

Dear fellow scientists and publishers,
Picture this: You are working from home in your own apartment. On the table there is a laptop, a pile of printouts, a piece of paper with a plan for mandatory tasks for tomorrow... A three-year-old child who needed attention all day long is enjoying full communication with the parents... Evening bath. Warm water, foam, favorite toys, and mother's gentle hands...
Bang!
And now there is practically no apartment... The broken front door now lies on the steps, the furniture is broken, the floor is covered with glass, and the cold autumn air penetrates the room through the empty window openings...

This is what the evening of November 17, 2024 was like in the house of our translator and proofreader Dariia Vannhanen. This day was not the best for the parents of our technical editor Inna Holovenko and their 800 neighbors. And for many residents it became their last in life.
This is how, on the 1000th day of the war, the russian aggressor is implementing his “peaceful” plans, trying to destroy Ukrainians, energy and social infrastructure, and seize territories.
Your colleagues in Ukraine are currently working under these conditions.
