A three-year-old child who needed attention all day long is enjoying full communication with the parents... Evening bath. Warm water, foam, favorite toys, and mother's gentle hands... Bang!

Invincibility in everyday life: Life and work in wartime

It’s Friday, a typical workday in a frontline city. Like most of my compatriots from such cities, I work from home, that is, from my own apartment. Imagine that this is accompanied by constant sirens and messages on social media: “Air raid! Go to shelter immediately!!!” War tests our endurance. The threat of airstrikes, missiles, or kamikaze drones has become painfully commonplace... Despite these circumstances, that morning my colleagues and I finished examining the situation with the two articles retracted by our journals and prepared a response to the СОРЕ request.

We live in a time when universities in Ukraine continue to operate amidst the extraordinary challenges of a war that has lasted for 10 years, with the past 2.5 years being a full-scale invasion. The war has impacted every university: many universities have been relocated, some even twice. Each of us has our unique experience of survival, adaptation, and resilience in these new realities.
Therefore, we are pleased to announce a special issue titled "Ukrainian Universities in New Realities: 10 Years of War," which will focus on the management, sustainability, and resilience of universities during the ongoing war.
