February 24, 2024 marks three years since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine began. Many Ukrainian scientists were forced to leave their country and seek safe haven. A member of the editorial board of the Banks and Bank Systems journal, and a regular author of articles published in the journals of the Business Perspectives publishing house, Inna Makarenko first left for the Czech Republic and then for Finland, where she has been living since February 2023.

The war continues... Having unleashed it, the enemy has violated not only all international norms of peaceful life, but also daily neglects the rules of warfare. Another attack on a residential building on the morning of January 30 in the city of Sumy. Here, on the border with the aggressor, most Business Perspectives employees live and work.

Picture this: You are working from home in your own apartment. On the table there is a laptop, a pile of printouts, a piece of paper with a plan for mandatory tasks for tomorrow... A three-year-old child who needed attention all day long is enjoying full communication with the parents... Evening bath. Warm water, foam, favorite toys, and mother's gentle hands... Bang!

It’s Friday, a typical workday in a frontline city. Like most of my compatriots from such cities, I work from home, that is, from my own apartment. Imagine that this is accompanied by constant sirens and messages on social media: “Air raid! Go to shelter immediately!!!” War tests our endurance. The threat of airstrikes, missiles, or kamikaze drones has become painfully commonplace... Despite these circumstances, that morning my colleagues and I finished examining the situation with the two articles retracted by our journals and prepared a response to the СОРЕ request.

The Chartered ABS has published its 2024 edition of the Academic Journal Guide (AJG 2024). AJG 2024 now comprises 1,822 journals, up from nearly 1,700 journals in AJG 2021.

We live in a time when universities in Ukraine continue to operate amidst the extraordinary challenges of a war that has lasted for 10 years, with the past 2.5 years being a full-scale invasion. The war has impacted every university: many universities have been relocated, some even twice. Each of us has our unique experience of survival, adaptation, and resilience in these new realities.
Therefore, we are pleased to announce a special issue titled "Ukrainian Universities in New Realities: 10 Years of War," which will focus on the management, sustainability, and resilience of universities during the ongoing war.
