The Business Perspectives' CEO visit to Norway

December 02, 2019

Peer review process is one of the key and determinant stages in creating a scientific journal and publishing a scientific article. Many events explore its types, procedures, possible conflicts of interest, etc. One should agree, this is very important for the Ukrainian publishing environment.

This is also relevant for Business Perspectives. Therefore, Liudmyla Ostapenko, the company CEO, recently participated in the COPE workshop.

About the venue. This is Norway, the city of Tromsø. Wikipedia says that Tromsø lies in Northern Norway. It is the largest urban area in Northern Norway and the third largest north of the Arctic Circle anywhere in the world. The population accounts for 75 thousand people. It is also noted that you can see the Northern Lights there. As Liudmyla says, she wasn't lucky to see this phenomenon. The light day was very short, from 11 am to 2 pm. The city and the people made a very nice impression.

About organizers. This event lasted for three days: On November 26, there was a Pre-conference workshop; on November 27-28, the conference was held. The seminar was organized by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), and the Conference – by the Arctic University of Norway. The organizers have provided all and everything needed for a person who first came to Norway and Tromsø.

Participants were instructed and advised for all occasions: the schedule of all events, the culture and rules of conduct, bus and plane schedules, access passwords, etc. They even found food warnings the participants had.
