Manfred Kirchgeorg

Manfred Kirchgeorg has been an Associate Professor at the Institute for Marketing at the University of Münster (Germany) since 1988. He began working at the Institute as a research assistant in 1985, and in 1989 he completed his doctoral thesis, which deals with "The Influence of Ecology on Corporate Behavior". This earned him two prizes: the McKinsey Research Award and a prize awarded by University of Münster for outstanding doctoral thesis.

In 1997 he completed his post-doctoral thesis, which is concerned with the theoretical and empirical aspects of closed loop value chains. His major research interests are marketing management, brand management, media management, cluster marketing and sustainable development and marketing. At present he lectures at the Leipzig Graduate School of Management in Leipzig. He has been a Visiting professor at various universities in the United States, Canada, Brazil, Switzerland and Singapore. He is involved in national and international consulting and research projects. He has published several books and a large number of articles in learned journals and collaborative volumes.
