James Munch
Professor, Chair of the Marketing Department, Wright State University, USA.
Dr. Munch received his Ph.D. in marketing from The Pennsylvania State University, his MBA from Syracuse University, and his BBA from St. Bonaventure University. Prior to joining Wright State Dr. Munch served as a marketing professor and tenured member of the graduate faculty of University of Texas at Arlington (1993-2007), Kent State University (1990-1993) and University of Delaware (1983-1990). He has taught EMBA, MBA, and sponsored management courses for University of Texas Arlington, Southern Methodist University, The University of Texas at Dallas, and the UTD/ UT Southwestern Medical Center Alliance for Medical Management Program. Over the last several years, Dr. Munch regularly traveled to Asia to teach global marketing strategy at The University of Science and Technology in Beijing, Tongji University in Shanghai, The Institute of Science and Technology in Suzhou, and in executive programs throughout Taiwan. Since coming to Wright State he developed and launched the first-ever executive education program in the college of business. Professor Munch is a past recipient of the UTA College of Business Administration Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Award, is a multi-year recipient for inclusion in Who’s Who Among America’s Graduate School Business Professors. Prior to his career in academia, Professor Munch was employed in sales and marketing positions with Carnation Company/Nestle, Inc. and Federal Wholesale Company, Hubbard, Ohio.
Professor Munch currently serves on the advisory board for Innovative Marketing, and the editorial review boards of the Journal of Business Research, and Psychology and Marketing. He has written numerous marketing research articles that have appeared in the Journal of Advertising, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Consumer Research, Psychology and Marketing, Journal of Services Marketing, and The Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice. He is a past recipient of the University of Texas at Arlington’s College of Business Distinguished Professional Publication Research Award. At Wright State University, Professor Munch manages the Rike Consumer Research Foundation, a multi-million dollar endowment which he re-designed to support academic research and development.
Dr. Munch has served as marketing consultant and educator for a number of global corporations including E. I. DuPont de Nemours and Company, Bank of America (MBNA), Speedway SuperAmerica LLC., Dayton Superior, Inc., World Factory Inc., Lee Services Dallas, and Marketing Management Inc., (MMI) Fort Worth, Texas.
