George S. Spais (Ph.D., Panteion University of Social & Political Sciences, Greece) is a Part-Time Educational Personnel Member ("SEP") of Hellenic Open University. He has held adjunct faculty posts at London Metropolitan University, UK (Athens Campus), Kentucky University, USA (Athens Campus), New Haven University, USA (Athens Campus), Athens University of Economics & Business (Greece), Agricultural University of Athens (Greece), University of Ioannina (Greece), University of Thessaly (Greece) and University of Peloponnese (Greece) and at several Greek Technological Educational Institutes.

His research interests are focused on promotion management and marketing education. He is highly interested in research topics related to the:

  • influence of learning theories in promotion management;
  • bargaining solution analyses for cooperative promotion campaigns;
  • effectiveness and efficiency measurement of sport sponsorship programs;
  • educational techniques and objectives in marketing education.

His research works have appeared in international academic journals, international conference's proceedings, and international book chapters.

Dr. Spais is an Academic Member of the Research Unit of Marketing of the Athens Institute for Education and Research (ATINER) and member of the Marketing Research Interest Committee of the EuroMed Research Business Institute (EMRBI). He serves as a marketing co-editor of the Journal of Applied Business Research and as a member on the editorial boards of (in alphabetical order) Asian Journal of Marketing, Innovative Marketing, International Journal of Integrated Marketing Communications, International Review of Management, Journal of Business Case Studies, Journal of Marketing Education and Journal of Promotion Management. He is acting as an ad hoc reviewer for several international academic journals of marketing and academic conferences. Since 2008, he serves as a mentor of the Academy of Marketing Science "Doctoral Student Mentor Program". Additionally, he works as a business consultant for small and medium-sized profit and non-profit organizations and as a trainer and educator for major significant Greek agencies, associations and unions, such as the Greek National Center for Public Administration and Local Government and the Social Multicenter of ADEDY (Supreme Administration of the Greek Civil Servants Trade Unions). He is a member of the Academy of Marketing Science (USA), the European Marketing Academy of the European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management (Belgium), the Marketing Academy (UK), the EuroMed Academy of Business of the EuroMed Research Business Institute (Cyprus), the Greek Marketing Academy (Greece), Hellenic Institute of Marketing (Greece), Hellenic Institute of Communication and the Hellenic Adult Education Association.
